WELCOME

My name is Anna Savage
she/her
Welcome! I’m a queer therapist based in Washington, DC, specializing in trauma-informed care for teens and adults. I have extensive experience supporting clients navigating trauma, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. As a trauma therapist in DC, I center the needs of BIPOC, queer, and gender-diverse individuals, creating a space where your identity and lived experience are honored.

My approach is rooted in anti-racist and anti-oppressive values. I am committed to dismantling systems of oppression—both inside and outside of the therapy room—and continuously reflect on how my own identities influence the way I practice. This includes an active effort to unlearn internalized systems such as racism, misogynoir, colorism, fatphobia, ableism, transphobia, and xenophobia.

I’m trained in evidence-based practices including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and mindfulness-based approaches. As a registered yoga teacher, I also incorporate somatic techniques and trauma-informed yoga into my work to support holistic healing.

If you're looking for a therapist who honors your lived experience and offers a safe, affirming space for healing and growth, I’d be honored to work with you.

Services
As a therapist, I am proud to offer a safe and inclusive space for you to reach your goals and live your best life. I am passionate about creating a supportive therapy environment that centers BIPOC and Queer communities. Let's work together to get you from surviving to thriving.

Individual Therapy
I work with teens and adults wanting happiness, self-awareness, and resolution. Our work together will be rooted in collaboration and go at your own pace. Whether you are struggling with the personal trauma, intergenerational trauma, anxiety, or depression, I will work with you through difficult emotions to develop coping skills and promote healing and growth.

Couples Therapy
I work with couples who want to communicate better and rebuild intimacy. When working with me, you can expect a nonjudgemental space to (re)build a strong relationship. I enjoy working with diverse couples from all walks of life, am kink friendly, poly friendly, and sex positive.
Yoga Group Therapy
Yoga group therapy for survivors of sexual assault is a safe and supportive space where individuals can explore their mind-body connection and begin to heal trauma. Through gentle movement, breathwork, and mindfulness practices, participants can learn to regulate their nervous system and cultivate a sense of empowerment and resilience. This type of therapy can be a powerful complement to traditional talk therapy and provide a holistic approach to healing.
