Approach
I believe that therapy is a partnership. You have everything you need inside you to heal. I will work with you to help you (re)discover your power and let go of the patterns that are holding you back.
I combine a variety of evidence based techniques to help you work towards your goals. This includes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, mindfulness and meditation, and more. Together, we will figure out what works best for you at a pace that works best for you.

My belief system also informs how I approach therapy. Below are some of the guiding beliefs that are important to me:

All Body's Deserve Love Appreciation and Respect
I do not subscribe to fatphobia, diet culture, or shaming
our bodies in the name of being healthy! We can strive
for health while showing appreciation, and kindness,
and compassion to our bodies

Sex Positivity
Pleasure is important and often overlooked. I will not
judge anyone for what excites them, what they desire,
or want they don't desire.

Anti-Racism
Being anti-racist means recongnize the impacts of racism
and taking action to undo them. White supremacist culture
holds all of us back. Learning to live differently is an
act of self-care and liberation.

Rest is Resistance
Grind culture kills. We all need moments of rest and
rejuvenation, but are often shamed into thinking we
must constantly be busy and productive. Together let's
fight against this shame and prioritize your peace

FAQ
How much does a session cost?
$200 per 50 minute therapy session

Do you take insurance?
I am an out of network provider, which means I do not work with insurance companies. However, that doesn't mean you can't use your insurance to pay for therapy with me. Call the number on your insurance card to check if they provide reimbursement for out of network providers. Many people are reimbursed 50-80% the cost of therapy sessions and even more once they meet their deductible. Click here to learn more about out of network benefits.

What is the first session like?
Having a positive, trusting relationship with your therapist is essential! In the first session, I will spend time getting to know you. I typically ask a lot of questions about what brings you to therapy, mental health symptoms, and your background. However, we can go as slow or as fast as you need. I will never force you to tell me something that you are not ready to.

Are sessions in person or virtual?
I am only offering virtual sessions at this time. This means you cut out the commute to and from therapy and can access therapy from the comfort of your own home. Make sure you are located in D.C, have a reliable internet connection, and can speak privately.
